Gus Poyet believes we have every chance of making it through to the quarter-finals in the second leg of our UEFA Cup Round of 16 tie with PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday. We travel to Holland a goal down from the first leg at The Lane last week, but our First Team Coach is fully confident we can turn things around.

After putting four goals past West Ham in the league on Sunday, Gus is calling on the same sort of form and a bit of help from our fans in a game he believes is like another Cup Final.

He said: “We have no excuses going into this game. We have to treat it as a Final because we need to win, it’s as simple as that.

“It doesn’t matter how we do it, it’s exactly the same as the Carling Cup Final, and I think that will make it easy for the players to get motivated.

“It’s a massive game for the Club, but let’s hope there will be many more important games after this when we’re through. It’s great for the players to be involved in a game like this.

“It will be very tactical out there, but for us it’s simple. Go out there, score goals, and win the game.

“Our players know what to expect from their crowd, and I know our fans will be absolutely unbelievable on the night. I hope we give them something to celebrate.”
