Gus Poyet reckons that the brutal reputation acquired by previous Uruguay teams is a thing of the past and says the team must adopt a calm approach.
Uruguay have been notorious in modern World Cups for 'mixing it' with the opposition, being somewhat fearless in the tackle and engaging in unsavoury off the ball activities.
Gus does not feel this will be an issue this time around, but feels his countrymen will have to watch their step.
"Not now," insists Gus. "You could imagine that if we are not winning it could be a little bit hard, but it is not a problem for the players - it is a problem for the referees I think!
"We have a very bad reputation in Uruguay and we have to handle it. It's difficult sometimes because you could make the same foul in a European league and probably because you are from Uruguay you are going to get a yellow card.
"It is hard, but we know that is going to happen and they are going to have to be calmer. I know they are going to be calmer."
