Gus back in the groove

Posted on 26 September 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Gus Poyet took part in a practice match at Spurs Lodge this afternoon and reports no problems with his knee injury.

The free-scoring midfielder is back in full training with the rest of the squad after undergoing keyhole surgery last month.

"I feel alright - no problems," he beamed. "My knee is responding well, I was running a lot and I think that is the most important thing to get me fit.

"I'm enjoying my football again.

"I'm doing everything in training. It is different when you play a game, you don't realise that you are jumping, blocking the ball, passing with your right and left foot - doing everything.

"At the moment I have no problems."

Gus in unaware at this stage whether Glenn wishes him to play some reserve team football before returning to the first team fold.

"It's up to the manager and it depends on a lot of things. It's up to him to decide whether I must play a couple of reserve games or not."
