The Gunners make the short trip to N17 for the first north London derby encounter of the season and a 1.30pm kick-off on Saturday (September 15).
Chris is determined to move on from the frustrations of our last two games against United, when we deserved more than a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford and Fulham, where we let 2-0 and 3-1 leads slip to suffer a last-minute equaliser.
As Chris pointed out - what better way to move on than to beat Arsenal?
“This match means everything,” said Chris when asked how important the derby was to everyone at Spurs. “Arsenal are still our biggest rivals and even though the make-up of the team has changed, whenever I hear them speak it’s still the big game.
“For us, going into a home game, we’re playing well enough but the results could have been better so taking everything into account, it’s a very big game for us.
“We want the three points and that would be the same whatever the opposition at home.
“We’re a formidable outfit at home and whoever it would be, we’d be looking for the three points.
“Arsenal are a very good side and have showed that this season but we go into this game with the excitement of wanting and trying to win it.”
Chris Hughton insists we’d be looking for a maximum three-point haul whoever the opposition at the Lane this weekend – it just so happens it’s Arsenal!
