It’s the third time in five years our grounds team has won the award for their work on the playing surface at White Hart Lane and the pitches and grounds at our world-class training facility, Hotspur Way.
Reporting on the award, the IOG’s official website paid this tribute…
In addition to maintaining the main stadium pitch at White Hart Lane in north London, Tottenham Hotspur’s 32-strong grounds team is also charged with the upkeep of the 15 training pitches at the club’s 77-acre site in Enfield. This is open all year round as a training ground for the Premier League club’s first team and academy teams, as well as having hosted the England national team on several occasions plus accommodating other events. It goes without saying that all the pitches are maintained and presented to the highest standards. Going forwards, in addition to involvement with a new stadium pitch in Tottenham, the grounds team has a progressive and on-going pitch improvement programme at the Enfield Training Centre.

Darren, our Head of Playing Surfaces and Estates, said: “This is our industry’s awards, held once a year and it’s a privilege to be nominated, let alone to win an award.
“Every aspect within professional football at this elite level is now of such a high standard and we were proud to be shortlisted alongside Manchester City, Manchester United and Leicester City.
“To then pick up the award is a real honour and testament to both the Club’s investment into the department and the individuals who work within it. I would like to thank each and every member of the team for their hard work and commitment because without that, we wouldn’t be able to pick up such a prestigious award.”
