While good results are always pleasing for everyone connected with the club, a dash of style to go with the substance is the key for John.
"We've been working on things every day and it's nice to see it come to fruition during the matches," said John at the Lodge on Monday. "The lads are doing great with the performances, but it's the style of play we're producing which is nice.
"It's what we do on the training ground. They are enjoying their training and they are enjoying their matches - it is nice to see."
Looking back on the recent wins, John takes just as much pleasure from a Sully shut-out as the goals flowing at the other end.
"That's important," he insisted. "To keep up that defensive work, defending from the front and that's where the lads worked hard on Saturday in particular.
"The two front players, Teddy and Les, through to Gus and right through the whole team. We defended really well as a unit and that's why we've just kept two clean sheets."
Ten goals and two clean sheets in the last two games - John Gorman is happy that training ground drills are paying dividends in the Cup and Premiership.
