John Gorman insisted that the team are determined to finish the campaign 'with a bang and not a whimper' ahead of the trip to Leeds United on Saturday.
The assistant boss expects a tough examination at Elland Road against a team coming in off the back of a 6-1 win at Charlton, but points out that confidence is high among the players after securing the victory against Birmingham last time out.
"It was nice to come back in with a win and get ready for the build-up to the game against Leeds United," said John at Spurs Lodge on Thursday.
"We know it's going to be a difficult game, they had their first really good win for a while at Charlton, which will obviously put them in good stead as well. We're the same, we are coming off a win and we want a good end to the season.
"We've said it continually and will continue to say it, we want to finish the season off with a bang and not a whimper! We had a bad result at Bolton in the last minute and we need an away result - we'll be going to Leeds to try and win the match.
"Don't underestimate Leeds because of their bad time - look at the players they've got. It's no coincidence they got a good result when they had Kewell, Viduka, Smith, Bakke, Matteo, Harte, Radebe - they are a good side.
"Nobody can turn around and say Leeds are a poor team because they have lost some influential players. A new manager has come in and we know Peter well, he is a great motivator and they will be right up for the game.
"I'm sure we will be the same."
