Our Yugoslav defender has missed out on all the fun on the field after suffering a fractured cheekbone, but he has been well placed to view the upturn in fortunes and pinpoint the reasons behind it.
"Everybody said that we are an old team, but the older players are playing so well," reflected Goran. "Teddy Sheringham, Christian Ziege and Gus Poyet... Dean Richards came at the right time and to the right place."
Goran is well aware that good performances and continued solidity at the back could make it a little tricky for him to make an instant return. He does not appear unduly concerned, just glad to be part of the club.
"It's very hard to get into the team, but there are reserve games and training and we work very hard.
"That is the spirit of Tottenham and we have so many great players - not to mention the injured players like Stephen Carr, Stephen Clemence and Steffen Iversen to come back.
"It'll be difficult to get in and the 16 guys who are in the squad are the right ones I think."
It is not hard to spot that Goran is enjoying himself since arriving at the Lane.
"It's been a pleasure for me, I've come to a great team and finally I think everyone will see, with the players in the squad that we are a great team and we must get to the place that we were 10 or 20 years ago when the gaffer played, and Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa played.
"So I think that we have great possibilities now. I think that the team now is finally getting fit and we've got lots of replacements for every place.
"I think everybody now feels that we are progressing, playing very good and not an easy team to beat."
Goran Bunjevcevic has outlined the spirit and work ethic that has underpinned the team's recent unbeaten run.
