The pair will link-up again after spending three seasons together at Red Star Belgrade before 'Bunje' arrived at the Lane last summer.
Milenko, named in Slovenia's World Cup squad on Tuesday, will join us on a four-year contract once work permit formalities are concluded.
Goran knows him as well as anyone and admitted: "I'm very pleased he's here. It will be a little easier for me and him especially, as I can help him with everything.
"He is an attacking midfielder, scores lots of goals for Red Star and the Slovenian national team and he has huge potential.
"First of all every player who comes from Europe has to get used to English football, a few games in pre-season and then the pace of the Premiership. But I think he has the potential to be a great, great player."
The pair are still great friends and speak regularly - even more so after Milenko's arrival in London.
Goran added: "When he had first contact with the club he asked me about it and I think now he realises how big it is and how big a thing in his life this will be.
"I told him that there are lots of differences here. Glenn Hoddle has made this club different, we like to pass the ball, like to play and he is a player who can do this.
"We have a lot of expectation next season and there is a lot of excitement already for next season.
"We spoke lots about the players, the football, the training. It's all different but I don't think he will have any problems getting used to it.
"He is very, very happy to be here and he is also an ambitious guy and nervous for the start of next season when he will meet the guys.
"He will have a great opportunity to progress at this club. He only has to see the players here. We have a great squad and we can expect a lot in the future.
"His country is also expecting a lot from him. It is a new chapter of his life and he is very excited. I expect a lot from him myself because I know his potential."
Goran Bunjevcevic is convinced Milenko Acimovic can be a 'great, great player' in the Premiership.
