With Dean Richards cup-tied, the Yugoslavian defender is set to return to the first team fold almost 10 weeks after fracturing his cheekbone against Chelsea.
Goran has been back in action for the reserves for over a month thanks to a protective mask.
The mask has gone and he can barely wait to get back in the big time. "I haven't played for eight or nine weeks and I feel very excited about this game," he admitted. "For me it's a World Cup Final.
"The team has played very well without me and now I have to play even better than before.
"We have tough opponents because I think Fulham are one of the best teams in the Premier League. They haven't had the results but they've played very well.
"They are a very good team but we are not too worried about the opposition because we have our qualities and we will try to win on Thursday.
"I'm very excited and also very nervous I must say. It's important for me to start the game well and to do well with the first couple of balls.
"I know what the Premiership is about and the cup games. But it is not just about me, it is about the team and how we play and if we play as well as we have recently there is no reason why we cannot win."
Goran Bunjevcevic has described Thursday night's Worthington Cup tie at Fulham as his own World Cup Final.
