The full-back has impressed in our four Premier League matches so far but knows Kieran is waiting in the wings.
"Kieran has come in after a great season at Burnley and that has pushed me on as a player, definitely," said Kyle, who is now seen as one of the more experienced players in our young squad, with six years at the club and over 150 appearances for us under his belt.
"I'm focused and right on it now. I’m not getting any younger and I know I have to go out every day and prove myself, not just to the gaffer, players and fans, but to myself and my family."
After an incredible run of matches following his breakthrough season in 2010-11, Kyle was hit by injury in February, 2014 and didn't return fully until December, restricting him to 21 appearances in all competitions.
"I feel I’m doing better now, I had an injury and I was always playing catch-up in terms of getting back to full fitness last season," he added.
"It’s still early this season and I need to keeping striding forward, keep doing what I’m doing and hopefully the rewards will come at the end of the season both with Tottenham and England."
