Jamie O'Hara was happy to be back in action after a month out with a hip injury just in time for Sunday's Carling Cup Final.
The midfielder played the majority of our UEFA Cup Round of 32 second leg with Shakhtar Donetsk at White Hart Lane on Thursday.
Jamie admits that progress has been slow-going on the road back from the knock he picked up in last month's Carling Cup semi-final second leg at Burnley.
So he was delighted to be feeling good having played himself into contention for our clash with Manchester United at Wembley.
"I'd been out for a while and hadn't been able to do a great deal of work in the gym, so I was a bit worried about coming back and being unfit," said Jamie. "But I got out there and felt good. I got 70 minutes under my belt and I feel stronger for it.
"Getting back fit for the Cup final was always something on my mind, and I wanted a game before it, so it was good to play against Shakhtar and do well."
Unfortunately for Jamie, it wasn't to be a successful return as we were eliminated from Europe - but he praised the performance of his team-mates.
"I was just glad to play my part but disappointed that we didn't come away with the result to take us through," he said.
"I thought the lads did brilliantly and were really unlucky not to get a result in the end - there were some really good performances on the night."
And after he was omitted from the squad for last year's Carling Cup Final, Jamie speaks exclusively to Spurs TV Online about his hopes of playing a key role this time around.
It is one of the many exclusives that will be made available this weekend on the new Carling Cup Exclusive Channel!
