Heurelho Gomes can't wait to step back into the Champions League arena.
The goalkeeper enjoyed an outstanding campaign as we qualified for the competition by finishing fourth in the Premier League last season.
That took us into the play-offs and we will face Switzerland side Young Boys over two legs for a place in the group stages.
The first leg is at the Stade de Suisse in Bern on Tuesday with the eagerly-awaited second leg and Champions League football at the Lane on Wednesday week, August 25.
Gomes racked up 41 games in the Champions League for PSV between 2004-08 including a run to the semi-finals in 2005.
"It's great to be in the Champions League again," said Gomes.
"I played in it for four years at PSV and I know how good it is, it's amazing to play Champions League with Tottenham now.
"We deserve it. We showed a lot of quality last season, improved a lot and now we'll see how good it is. It's the most important club competition in the world."
Gomes is all-too aware not to look beyond our play-off against Young Boys - a team that beat Turkish side Fenerbahce away in the third qualifying round to progress.
"Yes, we have a tough game against Young Boys," he added. "They did really well to beat Fenerbahce. We all hope to get past them, but we know it will be difficult."
The winners of the play-offs - 10 matches in total - go straight into the group stages of the Champions League.
