Heurelho Gomes has chosen to focus on the positives after our Carling Cup Final defeat at the hands of Manchester United.
The goalkeeper picked out the magnificent support of our fans at Wembley as one the driving forces behind the team's performance.
Gomes also cited a clean sheet against the European champions over 120 minutes of football, and has praised the display overall before a heartbreaking penalty shoot-out robbed us of glory.
"We played very well and the boys deserve a big pat on the back," he said. "It's always difficult against a team like United but it was so close.
"I want to say a big thank you to the fans because they were fantastic and really pushed us on. They are brilliant wherever we go.
"Penalties are a lottery but you have to say that United took theirs very well. I'm happy to have kept a clean sheet, but it hasn't won us the cup unfortunately."
Although he admits it would have been a dream to have picked up a trophy in his maiden season with Spurs, Gomes is hopeful of future success.
"It was a great opportunity to win my first trophy with Spurs, but we have to keep going and hope we get more opportunities in the future."
