Heurelho Gomes was already looking ahead before he'd even got back on the coach after our win at Villa Park!
The goalkeeper was in fine form in Sunday's excellent 2-1 victory against a side battling for a top four finish in the Premier League.
That win lifted us up to season-high 11th place and stretched our run to five games without defeat in the league with just one loss in our last eight.
Just as important, it maintained and boosted further confidence levels ahead of Saturday's mammoth clash against Chelsea at the Lane.
And that's what Gomes was focused on straight away. "It was a massive win for us because now we can think positively about the next game," he said.
"If we'd have lost, it would have been difficult. We can now prepare and have confidence for Chelsea and that's another massive game for us."
It was arguably Gomes' most complete performance yet as he fielded the regular supply of crosses coming in from every part of Villa Park. He caught most of them with ease and punched well when under pressure. "That was my best game for crosses," he smiled.
"This is a different style to other countries like Holland or Brazil. Every cross comes inside the box, from every angle and you have to concentrate. I'm okay now though.
"Villa was a very positive result for us," he added. "But we still have to take more points because we want to finish the season well."
