This year's FA Cup (sponsored by E.ON) has seen some exciting games and the first ever E.ON Legends FA Cup Golf Event will be no different.

In aid of the FA’s charity partners this event tees off on Tuesday, May 15 at the Marriott Worsley, home to an 18-hole championship golf course with USGA specification tees and greens.

The E.ON Legends FA Cup Golf Event will be contested by all 23 post war FA Cup winning teams, over 18 holes, using the stableford scoring system. Each team will be captained by a football legend along with two paying fans and one competition winner who make up each four-ball. Legends with FA Cup winning medals spanning over five decades will come together with the ultimate aim of taking home the trophy.

A number of FA Cup legends have already agreed to captain their respective teams. These FA Cup legends include: Blackpool’s Bill Perry who scored the injury-time winner in the famous ‘Matthews Final’ of 1953; Everton’s Graeme Sharp winner in 1985 and Manchester United’s three-times winner Denis Irwin, plus many more.

There will be numerous fundraising activities throughout the event, such as our Legends gala night on Tuesday May 14 with memorabilia auction, beat the pro, nearest the pin, longest drive and a two’s competition. All profits from the E.ON Legends FA Cup Golf Event will go directly to the FA’s charity partners.
