Chris Hughton has emphasised the importance of goal productivity from all areas of the team.

Jermaine Jenas has weighed in with two goals in his last three games and both he and Michael Carrick were unlucky not to find the net against Arsenal. Ledley King did find the target though to open the scoring with his second goal of the season.

Head Coach Martin Jol has talked frequently about the importance of goals from midfield after the strikers bagged a high percentage of our goals last season.

If you want to be a side that is going to be consistently up in the top six you have to have goals coming from everywhere

“There are not that many sides where you’ll get most of the goals from the two centre-forwards.

“Of course we want to see Robbie, Jermain, Mido and Grzegorz scoring goals but it was also nice to see Ledley score his second goal of the season against Arsenal. We know there are goals in Michael Dawson from set-plays and certainly from midfield. Their contribution has to be big.

“Jermaine Jenas covers a lot of ground and has the legs to consistently get into the box. I think the goals have lifted him. He didn’t score too many at Newcastle and I know that’s a goal for him for the rest of this season.â€Â
