Most observers know there is more to Lee's game than just goals but last season's top reserve scorer accepts that is what really matters.
"I was top goalscorer for the reserves but it was only six goals so I'm looking to score more and have a bit more consistency as well," said the ever-honest 20-year-old.
"People look at goal records. Obviously coaches can see what I do outside the box but it's about goals.
"I feel my confidence has improved and I feel mentally stronger. It's something I've worked on but it's not something you can buy.
"Hopefully I'll go out to the Second or Third Division on loan next season. I'd rather do pre-season here and get a few games under my belt and then go out."
Lee Barnard has targeted an improved goals tally as he looks to push ahead next term.
