Goal of the Season

Posted on 26 May 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We'll be asking for your votes for our goal of the season later this week - here are the next two of the 10 candidates...

On Friday, all 10 goals will go to our poll page with the top five then highlighted on our video service THTV.

Continuing the countdown...

Goal E: Stephane Dalmat v Wolves, White Hart Lane, Saturday December 6

The goal: Stephane saved the best until last in this 5-2 win, picking up Steve Carr's pass, driving through two defenders and smashing into the top corner.

He said: "It was a good goal - I wanted to score for Tottenham. This goal was very beautiful, but I have scored better. There was the possibility of a shot and I took the ball well."

Goal F: Robbie Keane v Portsmouth, White Hart Lane, Saturday February 7

The goal: Jermain Defoe stepped over a pass from Dalmat, confusing Pompey's defence. The ball looped up and Robbie fainted to go right, allowing the ball to bounce before lashing home a left-foot volley.

They said: "He's different class. His whole game, not just scoring goals, is brilliant. That's the only word for him, brilliant. He can't wait for games to come because he's on fire." Stephen Carr on Robbie that week.
