And there were a number of memorable goals along the way!
Every day this week we will be giving you the lowdown on each of the five contenders - here is your option 2...
Tom Huddlestone v Dinamo Zagreb, Thursday November 6, White Hart Lane
Spurs TV Online subscribers were certainly in for a treat during this live game, when the midfielder hit a dream volley in our 4-0 UEFA Cup win.
Already 2-0 up thanks to a Darren Bent double, David Bentley stepped up to take a corner on the left-hand side in the 59th minute.
Tom took up his normal position, lurking unmarked about 30 yards out, when he was unexpectadly picked out by the corner.
The ball was dropping a few yards in front of him, but the big man strode forward and caught it perfectly on the volley, which fizzed through a crowded penalty area and into the bottom right-hand corner.
When asked if it was his best ever goal recently, Tom replied: "Yes, I think it was. Having seen Paul Scholes and David Beckham do it, we used to try it when I was at Derby, but it never seemed to come off.
"David Bentley has great vision, and it wasn't planned at all, he just saw me on the edge of the box. Luckily for myself, it went in."
