Our global coaching team led Yamaha Thailand Under-13s to victory in the ASEAN U13 Tournament for the second year in succession at this year’s tournament held in Malaysia.

After last year’s success and Thailand winning their first ever tournament, Mark Jones, Head of Global Coaching Programmes and Chris Ramsey, Senior Professional Phase Coach, once again flew to Thailand to take the Thailand squad for an intense three-day training programme before the tournament.

Mark and Chris put the team through a number of team tactical sessions, which proved valuable as Thailand became the first team in history to retain the prestigious cup, beating Malaysia 2-1 in the final.

Mark said: “It was a privilege to coach these boys again, they respond to our philosophy extremely well and the natural talent the lads have is there for all to see. It was extra special having someone as experienced and knowledgeable as Chris Ramsey working alongside us this year."

As part of the partnership with Yamaha, selected boys from the team are now working with our players and coaches at the Training Centre on a residential stay. They will also watch our Academy teams and be part of the ballboy/girl squad against Chelsea.
