Teddy Sheringham's second half strike sealed the points after we'd outplayed a Villa side that had previously won eight of their 12 league games at home.
"I felt all through the game that we got the ball down and played reasonably well," reflected Glenn afterwards.
"We might have found ourselves in the lead just before half-time and felt they would make the changes at half-time because we'd nullified most of the problems they'd tried to cause us.
"They made those changes and we had to stay with that and the first 10 minutes of the second half were the key - were they going to come out and play better or could we continue?
"I felt we weathered the changes and went on and deserved to win."
A delighted Glenn Hoddle insisted we thoroughly deserved our Premiership victory at Villa Park on Saturday.
