Glenn Hoddle says the players and staff 'can't wait' for Sunday's Premiership encounter against Everton.
The boss reiterated that everyone was 'bitterly disappointed' at last week's FA Cup exit at Southampton but are now raring to get back into action against the high-flying Toffees.
"It was a one-off," reasoned Glenn of the 4-0 loss at St Mary's. "We played very well in the previous games and had nothing to show for it. We've got to bounce back now. Everton is a big game and we have to focus on every game.
"You are always disappointed when you go out of a cup, that goes without saying.
"We've played well in this spell and played better against Newcastle and the first game against Southampton than we did against City. That's football and that's this league.
"People might focus on that cup result but we won't. If it becomes a pattern it becomes a big problem. But there isn't a problem like that.
"I know the players, the staff - we can't wait for Sunday to come around. It is a big game for us.
"So I don't want to dwell on the cup game. We're looking ahead to Everton now, we've fixed our minds on that. We've dealt with the cup, it's in the past and it has to be a platform to go into this game.
"We can't wait to get out there and play again."
