Glenn was unveiled as our new manager having signed a five-year contract. He takes over officially on Monday. John Gorman will be his assistant manager and Chris Hughton has been promoted to first team coach.
As he sat down to talk to the massed ranks of the media in his first duties as our new manager, the player who lit up the Lane for 13 years immediately spoke of a sense of 'coming home'.
He said: "I walked through the turnstiles when I was eight years of age as a supporter, so I know how the supporters feel. I left when I was 29. That is a massive part of my football career. Whether or not I knew I was coming back I can't say but I'm glad to be here.
"It's emotional and exciting, a feeling of coming home. That's the feeling.
"As far as this club is concerned I've been there. I've been out in that stadium for 13 years as a professional.
"I joined the club at 11 years of age, so there is a deep rooted feeling for Tottenham Hotspur. It has always been my club. I know the feeling at the club, I know what the fans want, what they like and I know what they don't like.
"We have an opportunity to understand that straight away. That is natural and is already there and will be an advantage to take the club forward."
