Glenn targets big guns

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle says it's time we beat one of the Premiership's big guns - and he has Arsenal in his sights.

We've been desperately unlucky not to have picked up better results against Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Leeds United so far this season.

Key moments have gone against us - dodgy penalty and last-minute goal against Chelsea, one moment of magic at Liverpool, individual mistakes at Leeds and, of course, we were 3-0 up at half-time against United before that remarkable second half revival.

The massive derby against the Gunners at the Lane is next after international week on Saturday November 17th and the boss is desperate to to take that scalp.

Glenn explained: "The missing ingredient at the moment is a little belief, not in performance, but belief that we can beat the top five teams.

"We've played four of them, we've got Arsenal coming up in our next game and it's about time we beat one of them because we deserve to.

"In all four of those games we've come close to either winning or getting a draw.

"What we haven't experienced is getting beaten easily, when I've come off thinking 'we haven't half got a long way to go to bridge that gap'.

"We could have easily won those games or at least got something out of them. It's been very small margins to why we've lost, be it refereeing decisions, a late goal, whatever.

"There are a lot of encouraging signs there and that's why I say we're a little ahead - the way we're playing.

"I expected us to be where we are in the league, if not higher, but looking at it, three points, which is nothing, puts us fourth anyway.

"So we're not that far off keeping in touch. What we've got to do is believe and that will come with a result or two against the top five. Hopefully that will start against Arsenal."
