Ben Thatcher hobbled away from the Reebok Stadium with a calf problem to join fellow defenders Anthony Gardner, Dean Richards and Christian Ziege on the sidelines.
One ray of light is Chris Perry's return from injury and he's now completed two full reserve games after his outing at Charlton on Tuesday night.
It's unclear though how long Ben will be out and Glenn lamented: "It's the story of our life, isn't it? We've had so many injuries for so long.
"Ben's pulled a calf muscle and we're not sure how long he will be out.
"We've only managed to put the same defence out back-to-back once this season and look at any side who can keep clean sheets or go on a run - Liverpool's back four didn't really change last season, the back four at Arsenal didn't change for years and they've had trouble this season because they've had to change things around.
"We've had that all season and last season as well and you are never going to get that continuity or a base to your game. As a manager that is very, very frustrating, believe me."
Glenn Hoddle rued another defensive injury at Bolton and admitted it's been a huge problem to find a solid base to the side with so many forced changes.
