The boss rightly pointed out that the chances were there to win the game and a telling point is that Rovers keeper Brad Friedel walked away with the man of the match award.
"We were very disappointed", reflected Glenn.
"In cup finals, if you create chance you've got to put them away, and in the end we haven't.
"The keeper's won man of the match, he's had a great game for them."
Glenn added that the major decision of the match went against us, but was quick to praise Blackburn for their success.
"The massive key for us is that, in my opinion, it was a nailed-on penalty that we didn't get on the day.
"Blackburn played well, they gave it everything. We played well at stages of the game but not at our very best.
"The bottom line is we've created more chances, better chances, and come off losers. That is bitterly disappointing."
Glenn Hoddle expressed his dismay over missed opportunities in the wake of the Worthington Cup Final defeat to Blackburn Rovers.
