The boss senses an excitement around the club and points out that the new players and players who suffered long-term injuries are desperate to get going again.
"There is a lot of optimism around and we are optimistic about the season," said Glenn at Spurs Lodge. "It is exciting, the first game and it's been a long pre-season for most clubs.
"You want to get things underway and it's come round now. Last season seems a long time ago.
"We're looking forward to the start of the season, there are some players here that have been out with long-term injury who are looking forward to getting back and there are some new players looking forward to starting their careers with us.
"It is an exciting time and I'm sure the fans will go up there and give us great support."
We travelled to Goodison for our first away trip of last season and came away with an extremely creditable draw considering the team was reduced to nine men.
"We went their for their first home game of last season and we're back there again. We put in a magnificent performance up there, down to nine men and could even have won the game.
"You have to battle hard against Everton up there, especially at this time of the season as they are going to be up for it.
"We're going to have to go in with a gameplan, stick to it and we've got to make sure that when we do get chances we punish them.
Glenn says there is much optimism around as the season fast approaches and can't wait for the action to begin against Everton at Goodison Park.
