Boss Glenn has named a squad of 22 to travel to Broadhall Way and is expected to play a different 11 players in each half.
Summer recruits Gus Poyet and Goran Bunjevcevic have been pencilled into that 22-man squad and are expected to make debuts.
Darren Anderton, Mauricio Taricco, Steffen Freund and Steffen Iversen are all back from injury.
But Teddy Sheringham, Sergei Rebrov, Stephen Carr, Gary Doherty, Oyvind Leonhardsen and Luke Young will not feature having only returned to training this week after being given more time off for international duty.
Glenn has been delighted with pre-season so far. “It has gone very well,” he said. “We had a terrific week out in La Manga, facilities out there are first class, the weather is obviously very good and we worked hard.
“We haven’t overdone it. I wouldn’t say it’s been extra hard, the balance has been correct.
“They trained three times a day in Spain, which is new to quite a few players.
“We go into this first pre-season match, or a practice match as I see it — we always have a match like this — and players will play a maximum of 45 minutes.
“They’ll train very hard in the morning and we’ll use the match as our second session.”
Glenn Hoddle has confirmed that players will be handed a maximum of 45 minutes each in tonight’s first pre-season friendly at Stevenage Borough.
