Boss Glenn reported that the pair have ‘slight knocks’ and would not feature in Tuesday’s friendly at Luton Town or Bill Nicholson’s Testimonial on Wednesday if they weren’t deemed fully fit. Neither took part in Saturday's friendly win at Millwall.
Speaking after the 2-1 win at the New Den, where Sergei Rebrov was withdraw at half-time after taking a couple of whacks, Glenn commented: “The main thing in pre-season is not to get any injuries.
“We’ve picked a couple up and we would rather have a clean bill of health going into the season.
“Teddy Sheringham and Stephen Carr have slight knocks and we’ll hold them back a little.
“We’re hoping they might be fit next week to shape up in some sort of game. But we won’t risk them.
“If it means we have to wait until we’re into the season we’ll wait. It’s not the time of year to take risks.”
Glenn Hoddle insists he will not take risks with injured pair Teddy Sheringham and Stephen Carr.
