Glenn Hoddle says he cannot wait for the season to end so he can kick-start his Spurs revolution in earnest.
His early days in charge have been seriously hampered by injuries and it was another young side that took to the field at Anfield on Sunday.
The youngsters performed admirably against Liverpool before a controversial penalty award when the score was 1-1 put the home side in the driving seat. Gary McAllister netted and Robbie Fowler added a late third goal.
Glenn admitted afterwards: “To be honest I can’t wait for this season to end and next season to start.
“We’ve got to get new blood in, fresh blood, but this proved that there is a lot to build on.
“We’re strengthening the squad at this moment in time, albeit the underbelly of the squad. It’s strengthening with the experience it is getting.
“We’ve got a decent enough squad. I think the foundation is there. We’ve got to bring in some quality players to go on the top of that and then we’ll have a strong enough squad."
