American number one Kasey flew to the States for the tournament in Miami and Pasadena after Wednesday's win at Coventry.
Boss Glenn confirmed he'd considered bringing in a keeper as cover for Neil Sullivan with Kasey away and Dave Beasant having returned to Portsmouth.
He explained: "We've looked at the goalkeeping situation and it's a complicated scenario.
"Kasey has gone and America have two games but if they get knocked out, he returns before the Chelsea.
"We have a call back situation if anything happens to Neil Sullivan and we have young Gavin, who is learning his trade. We have that cover at the moment.
"There are a couple of keepers who we have in mind that could come in very quickly.
"I've decided not to do that before Saturday because if something happens to Neil we got direct call back. Young Gavin will be on the bench on Saturday."
Kasey kicks off the event today (Saturday) against Korea before facing Cuba on Monday. If they fail to qualify, Kasey will return although if they go all the way, he could be away until February 4 - the final is on February 2.
Gavin Kelly is set for a place on the bench on Saturday as Glenn Hoddle monitors Kasey Keller's CONCACAF Gold Cup progress.
