A Sergei Rebrov goal on 19 minutes seperated the sides at the end and Bournemouth gave a good account of themselves against Premiership opponents. Glenn pointed out that a few slight injury problems prevented him from fielding as strong a side as he would have liked.
"Yes it was tough, we were resting a few and a few are still out with little niggles so there was 14 first teamers we didn't use tonight," said the boss afterwards, pleased that a number of the team played a full game.
"We've got a game on Saturday and another one Sunday, so there is plenty of games and a lot of the players played their first 90 minutes.
"It's all about fitness really for us, it wasn't a bad game for Bournemouth, they played well. All in all, it was a typical sort of pre-season game for us."
Neil Sullivan was called into action on a number of occasions after being largely untroubled in his two halves against Stevenage and Colchester.
"That's the bonus, if you come and have a little tough game like it was. The goalkeeper has to come in and do his job and he made some decent saves.
"As a team we haven't worked anything tactically yet, we're just working on fitness levels, matches and getting people fitter so that when we go into what I call the two main friendlies against Celtic and Lazio we'll be further down the line.
"I don't think anyone stood out. I think Milenko showed class, a cut above at times. The overall picture is that they got their first 90 minutes under their belt and that's part of pre-season."
Glenn Hoddle was happy that the team got a good work-out against third division Bournemouth in our 1-0 friendly win at the Fitness First Stadium on Thursday evening.
