Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Spurs jetted out to Sweden on Tuesday morning for their pre-season mix of hard work and bonding. The seven-day tour will take in three friendly games and enjoying the delights of the midnight sun in the northern Baltic.

While fitness and match preparation is the reason for the trip, not far behind in terms of importance is the opportunity for players to bond, including new signings Ben Thatcher and Sergei Rebrov, right.

As boss George Graham explained: "If you are going to have a successful team, it is important to have to have good team spirit no matter how good technically you are."

The first of three games is in Byske, Sweden, on Wednesday night followed by a trip to Uleaborg, Finland, on Saturday before returning to Boden, Sweden, for the final friendly on Monday.

Our first opponents are Skellaftea from the Swedish second division - roughly on a par with Division Two in England. Neither team will be playing on home turf, the small town of Byske is hosting the match and a crowd of about two thousand is expected.

Leeds United played the club last summer and won 15-0! The club's main claim to fame is launching the career of a former Swedish international Dick Ledman.

Midfielder Steffen Freund added: "The tour is ideal for team spirit, which is very important but it will also be nice to start playing again. I know George Graham and I am certain we will be working very hard as well."

Steffen is contributing a weekly column of his views throughout the season. The first appears in the Analysis section.
