Younes Kaboul was delighted to be back in action but conceded a draw was probably fair against Everton on Saturday.
The defender lined-up alongside William Gallas in central defence for his first start in over a month in a tough encounter against the improving Toffees at the Lane.
Younes was somewhat unlucky to be penalised for a foul on Yakubu that led to Everton's goal, a fine free-kick from Leighton Baines, but otherwise impressed as the visitors barely troubled us in the second half.
Rafael van der Vaart levelled soon after Baines' strike but we couldn't find a way through in the second half as it stayed 1-1.
"I was very happy to start the game, even though it was a bit difficult because I hadn't played for a month," reflected Younes.
"I thought we did well defensively but we couldn't win. I thought 1-1 was a fair scoreline and now we have to concentrate and focus on the next game.
"They scored a great goal and we're lucky because we came back straight afterwards. That was important.
"We didn't doubt ourselves. We perhaps could have scored a second goal in the second half but we didn't and as I said, 1-1 was a fair result."
