Giovani dos Santos scored twice as we toppled Grays Athletic 5-2 in a training ground friendly on Tuesday.
The Mexican forward - recently back from an ankle injury - bagged a goal in each half and looked in fine form in his 90-minute stint against the Blue Square Premier side at Spurs Lodge.
Luka Modric played 70 minutes on his return from a fractured fibula - CLICK HERE - as we scored four unanswered goals in the second half.
Grays competed well and led 2-1 at half-time with Gio on target.
Two goals in quick succession from Roman Pavlyuchenko and Gio handed us a 3-2 lead, Jon Obika powered through for 4-2 and Anton Blackwood completed the scoring from the penalty spot.
Development coach Clive Allen reported: "It was important for Luka as it was a number of the first-team squad to play and a couple of the younger players in and around the first team squad.
"We started slowly and made it difficult for ourselves initially but once we got ourselves going some of the football we played was excellent.
"We ended up with the right sort of performance and result.
"It was great for Gio to score twice. He was unfortunate to pick up the injury when he did against Preston in the Carling Cup as he was looking very sharp at that point, but he's worked hard to get himself back and he looked sharp, bright and took his goals well."
