Ginola in for Tribute

Posted on 12 October 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Magnifique news - David Ginola has joined the cast of legends for Thursday's Tottenham Tribute Match.

The French star will line-up with Glenn Hoddle, Jurgen Klinsmann, Paul Gascoigne, Chris Waddle, Paul and Clive Allen for the game against DC United to raise funds for former players.

Arguably our most popular modern-day player, David Ginola's French flair dazzled all down the left wing in his three seasons at the Lane.

'Le Magnifique' made exactly 100 Premiership starts for us in that time, 127 in all competitions, scoring 22 goals.

His finest season came in 1998-99, when a string of inspirational displays helped us to a Worthington Cup triumph at Wembley and the semi-finals of the FA Cup - who can forget his goals against Leeds United, Wimbledon and Barnsley? - and clinched him a PFA/Football Writers Player of the Year double.

TICKETS are currently on sale from the Spurs Ticketline on 08700 112222 or online for members and season ticket holders. Child and OAP entry is just £5, with Adults £15/20.

Look out for more this week as we build up to Thursday's Tottenham Tribute Match at the Lane...
