Gilberto played 90 minutes as Brazil held Argentina to a 0-0 draw in their crucial World Cup qualifier in Belo Horizonte last night.
But it was not the result Carlos Dunga's side were looking for as it still leaves them four points behind leaders Paraguay in their 2010 qualification group.
The five-time World Cup winners were hoping to make amends for the disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of Paraguay last weekend.
But Argentina were the dominant side last night, with Barcelona's Lionel Messi at his best, and Brazil now sit in the automatic qualification positions by just one point.
Next up for Gilberto and co is a trip to Chile and a home game with Bolivia in September.
