Giggs dished out the praise to his Welsh compatriot after the young midfielder’s excellent display in Saturday’s 3-1 win against the Premiership champions.
Super Simon, still just 20, has enjoyed a superb end to the season and will now join Giggs in the Welsh squad for key World Cup qualifying matches against Poland and Ukraine on June 2 and June 6.
Giggs said: “On the Welsh side of things I hope Simon can establish himself in the first team at Tottenham.
“He’s a talented player and the experience you can gain from Premiership football will help him in internationals.
“He’s taken his chance brilliantly. Tottenham have quality players so hopefully he can continue to push to play regularly and then he will come on in the international scene.”
Giggs was in the Welsh side when Simon made his full debut in a draw against the Ukraine at the Millennium Stadium in April.
The United wing wizard was clearly impressed. “Simon did really well on his debut,” he added.
“He’s got a little bit of everything. He reminds me a bit of Paul Scholes. He can join the game, play a number of positions and he’s a good finisher.”
Manchester United and Wales superstar Ryan Giggs is tipping Simon Davies for the top — after comparing him favourably with Paul Scholes.
