The boss is expecting some early festive cheer with the return of long-term injured players Oyvind Leonhardsen, Steffen Iversen and Mauricio Taricco all before the Christmas period.
George stated: "We’ve got Iversen to come back, Taricco, Leonhardsen — so why not the top six?
"If you look at the league, say below the top two or three and the bottom three or four, between those teams there are just a few points in it. If you can put a nice little run together why not?
"Look how well the promoted clubs are doing. Ipswich are up there, Charlton are doing well. If I can get the lads back and get them hungry enough, which is not a problem, then why not?
"Leonhardsen is not ready although he’s very close, Iversen is coming along quicker than we expected, Taricco is not ready yet.
"They are all quite close, a couple of weeks, which will be nice because if we can get them all back for the Christmas period, which I’m sure we will, then we have the second half of the season to go."
George Graham is planning to kick-start an assault on the Premiership’s top six over Christmas.
