George was subjected to further calls for his head at the Valley on Wednesday, as the team ended a run of four games without a goal with four goals in one match. He has now issued a plea to supporters to back the team and save any criticism of him until after the game in future.
"It's important the fans don't give me stick during the game," said George. "They have to get behind the team and encourage them.
"They are entitled to have a go at me after the match but during it I would prefer them to focus on the team and not me.
"They were still singing ‘Graham out’ even at 4-2 - but four goals anywhere away from home is good these days.
"We have come in for some criticism recently but I've got nothing but admiration for the players."
George Graham has a request for the fans who barrack him during games — save it until after the final whistle so it doesn’t affect the players.
