Harry Redknapp has been impressed with Gareth Bale in recent weeks - he says it's now up to the young full-back to go out and show what he can do.
Gareth did exactly that as he returned to the side against Peterborough United in Saturday's convincing FA Cup win at White Hart Lane.
Back in for Benoit Assou-Ekotto - outstanding all season but out with a hip problem - it was only Gareth's fourth start of the campaign and he made the most of it.
Hardly troubled defensively, he caught the eye raiding forward down the left flank and after forcing Posh keeper Joe Lewis into one of the best of his many saves in the first half, Gareth set-up the second and third goals for Niko Kranjcar and Jermain Defoe as we ran out 4-0 winners.
"Gareth has the potential to be a great player," said Harry.
"He's trained hard, worked hard and his attitude has been fantastic. It's up to him now to have a good run and show everybody what he can do.
"He's a great attacking left-back, a great athlete and crosser of the ball and the defensive side of his game is improving all the time.
"People forget he's young and he's still learning the game. He's a great size, has a great left foot and he's a good lad as well. I'm sure he's going to do well. He's got everything to be a top player and has a great future."
