Gareth in UEFA.com Team of Year

Gareth Bale has been named in the UEFA.com users' Team of the Year, 2011.

Gareth Bale has been named in the UEFA.com users' Team of the Year, 2011.

The Welsh flier is the first Spurs player and first Welshman to make it into the team, voted for by fans on UEFA.com.

Over 4.5 million voted were cast in selecting the team.

Barcelona and Real Madrid players take eight places in the team with Gareth, Thiago Silva of AC Milan and Bayern Munich's Arjen Robben in for the other three.

Gareth was up against some of Europe's top talent in the left midfield category - Eden Hazard (Lille), Angel Di Maria (Real Madrid), Juan Mata (Valencia/Chelsea) and Ashley Young (Villa/United) - but came out on top.
