Anhtony started our first three games and formed a useful understanding with Dean Richards in central defence before missing the home win over Southampton. He returned for the defeat at Fulham and the memorable win over West Ham, in which he scored his first goal for the club.
He has been marked absent for our last three games, but reports that he is on the road to recovery.
"I've started doing a little bit of jogging to try and get a bit of fitness back," said Anthony, who insists he will not rush and risk a repeat of the same injury.
"I don't want to be breaking down with it again so I've got to get the strength back and make sure I'm ready and don't get problems.
"It's the same injury, a small tear and there was bleeding in the muscle. We've had to be cautious with it and I went to see the specialist. He has given the all clear to start work again now.
"Hopefully I'll be playing in some kind of game in the next ten days or so, maybe a reserve game. If not next week then after the international games to get in some sort of shape for a first team game."
Anthony Gardner is back in light training following the thigh injury that halted his promising start to the season.
