Two wonderful goals from Vlad Chiriches and Lewis Holtby turned the game around after Fulham took the lead in the second half.

There were chances throughout in an open, entertaining Premier League derby.

Both teams might have opened the scoring in the first half but Maarten Stekelenburg denied Jermain Defoe and Erik Lamela and Paulinho blasted over from close range. Erik also curled just wide. At the other end, Hugo Lloris produced a fine save to keep out Dimitar Berbatov.

Fulham took the lead through Ashkan Dejagah on 56 minutes only for Vlad to drill home a stunning half-volley from fully 35 yards in the 73rd minute.

Hugo then saved brilliantly from Berbatov and Lewis made sure maximum points were going back to North London with a thunderbolt from 25 yards eight minutes from time.

"The game was frenetic and open from both teams,” reflected Andre.

“We didn’t play well in the first half but we still created chances - Paulinho, Lamela - that could have finished them off.

“We conceded the goal in the second half when we least expected, when we were looking more organised in our shape and we really needed to dig deep to find the strength to come back.

“We tried by sending the ball wide and crossing but it was only going to come from outside the box and we had two great finishes from Vlad and Lewis.

“We’ve been a bit unlucky of late, this time we were a little more fortunate. Hugo made some brilliant saves, we have to admit that. We were also unlucky in our chances.

“It was very important for the team to get a win back in the Premier League - it almost completes our bouncing back from the City defeat.”
