Fry: George is the man

Posted on 7 August 2000  - 12:00

English Barclays Premiership

Barry Fry believes George Graham can bring the glory, glory days back to White Hart Lane. The Peterborough United boss took time out to talk to the Official Spurs Website as he prepares Posh for Tuesday night's friendly at London Road.

And he insisted: "I've loved watching Spurs through the years. They've been a joy to watch. The supporters have been brought up that way and that's why perhaps they've had a bit of a rough ride lately.

"George has done well getting three new players in during the summer and I think the Tottenham fans, although they are disappointed that Ginola's gone, will be very keen for the season to start. They've had a magnificent pre-season so far, not conceded a goal in six games and that always gives you a chance in football.

"George wants to win and has a reputation of not letting in goals - which is a great reputation to have in this game. He's won as much as anyone apart from Sir Alex Ferguson and desperately wants to do the same at Tottenham.

"I think given the time, money and support George will definitely bring the glory days back to Tottenham. It would be nice for those fans to start singing again."

The match at London Road represents our seventh friendly. So far we're unbeaten and have yet to concede a goal.
