Paul Stalteri is full of admiration of the player who has operated directly in front of him on matchdays.

The Canadian full-back has had possibly the quickest player in the Premiership darting around ahead of him in the shape of Aaron Lennon, a player he quickly predicted earlier in the season would make a significant impact for us.

Such has been his impact, the little winger has since been named in England's World Cup squad.

"I said back in August that I could see the quality he had," recalled Paul. "He has showed it throughout the year and has developed into a hugh threat for us.

"He has displayed moments of brilliance throughout the season, now he is getting to the final third and is contributing to goals and scoring goals.

"The pace he has will scare any full-back, it is a nightmare to come against someone like him on a weekend. Most full-backs have no chance against his sort of pace."

Paul went on to give his take on his on-pitch interchange with the just turned 19-year-old, pointing out that his pace works very much in favour of our own full-back...

"He is good, he always wants the ball and is quick enough that even if you make a bad pass he can get on the end of it. He is a great player to play with, he is young but he listens and understands the game. He knows his role both offensively and defensively.

"He has matured into a fantastic player for us."
