Hot on the heels of boss Glenn Hoddle insisting that our new-look team had never lost to Chelsea, midfielder Steffen declared that home advantage gave us a big chance on Sunday.
"Chelsea is a big game," said Steffen. "We’ve talked together as a team and if we look in the past, of course, we’ve had a lot of problems against Chelsea. But we don’t live in the past and we have a chance on Sunday.
"They have a lot of individual class, everyone knows that. But this is a wonderful game to play, especially at home and we are always confident to win home games. We have had three clean sheets at home and that gives you confidence."
Meanwhile, Steffen added that he was pleased with his own start to the season. "I’m happy personally with how things have gone so far but of course I am not happy because we have a lot of injuries again and we are definitely stronger if everyone is fit," he said.
"These are my first games under Glenn Hoddle and for me it was important to get the chance to show I am hungry to play for Tottenham and now, after five games, it is important for me to be in the team and go from there.
"The start hasn’t been perfect but the win against Southampton was important and we can go from there."
