Keane made quite an impression at the World Cup, on none moreso than the Germans, who were cruising along to a 1-0 win until our new addition saw an opening and smashed the ball into the roof of Oliver Kahn's net to level.
"He was the only one to beat Oliver Kahn in the first round and I think it is a great signing for the club," said Steffen, who feels that the squad will be a powerful unit in the coming weeks.
"If I look now at our squad now, we have had a wonderful start, getting ten points from four games is perfect.
"To the players who have achieved that, add Robbie, Gus will be back soon, I'm back and Darren, Ledley and Stephen Carr won't be long.
"I think that we are ready to stick around high in the table. We've had a good start, but the hard games will come soon and we will need every player. It's nice to see more faces back."
Steffen Freund applauds the capture of Robbie Keane - a striker pretty well known in Germany.
