Freund in reserve

Posted on 11 February 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Steffen Freund joins a younger-looking reserve squad for tonight's FA Premier Reserve League clash against Derby County at Burton Albion FC.

The midfielder joins Japanese star Kazuyuki Toda, Ben Thatcher and Alton Thelwell as the more senior members of the squad while there are four Under-17 players involved and Robert Burch gets his chance in goal.

The Rams currently top the Southern Division and Colin Calderwood knows his side face a stiff test.

He said: "I'm sure they will have a younger side than we're used to playing but they are always very competitive and put you under pressure.

"We've got four experienced players but otherwise it's a fairly young squad and it's an opportunity for them."

Squad: Burch, Thelwell, Henry, Thatcher, Bowditch, Toda, Freund, Galbraith, Ricketts, Jackson, Malcolm, Wettner, Eyre, Black, Dobson, McKenna.
